The St. Christopher House Community Endowment was established as a public foundation to support innovative programs and advocacy work of West Neighbourhood House (formerly The St. Christopher House).
Previously known as the Property Corporation which held the title to the property owned by The St. Christopher House, the name was changed to the St. Christopher House Community Endowment in 2000 to reflect a change in its purpose to be a public foundation supporting the House.
Donations and gifts given to the St. Christopher House Community Endowment are maintained as capital. The income from investment of this capital is used to support the activities of West Neighbourhood House. This is done according to regulations set out for public foundations under the Income Tax Act as administered by the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency.
